If you are in search of a high quality smallish upright piano with a bit more character than the ubiquitous shiny black polyester models, then this Welmar will be very hard to beat! Made in 1996, this would be great for beginners to advanced players, and has been well looked after by the previous owners. We are big fans of Welmar pianos and always try to have one or two available for sale - they are among the best small uprights made in England. They worked very closely with Bluthner over the years and the influence can definitely be heard in the sweet and mellow tone. Having been carefully prepared in our workshop to offer many more years of music making and to be at its best for the new owners, it has also had a stunning refinish to the case in a wonderful ‘Deep Sea Blue' colour. Tone and tuning
Wonderful rich ‘European’ tone with a great balance between brightness and warmth, and a good dynamic range. Very good bass for a piano of this size. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440).
Keyboard and action
The full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the Langer action has been regulated - very responsive, playing smoothly across the whole keyboard, with a medium weight touch, suitable for any level of player.
Hammers and strings
Very little wear in the hammers - this piano has not been played heavily. Strings in great condition also.
Soundboard
Excellent condition spruce, with no cracks or splits
Case
The case was quite faded in places so has now been professionally refinished in our custom colour ‘Deep Sea Blue’, with a satin finish - a unique and stylish piano! The matching adjustable stool, with William Morris designed upholstery, is included in the price.
