Made in 1911 by one of the very finest piano makers, the Bechstein Model B grand piano offers outstanding natural and rich tone, with plenty of power. This is a fine example which has been well looked after over the years and now very carefully restored by ourselves to be at its very best.

Tone and tuning
 
Lovely rich and warm tone, with a pleasant brightness and a large dynamic range - lots of power as you would expect from a large boudoir grand piano! Excellent bass and the treble is clear and bell like. Nicely balanced tone throughout the registers. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440).
 
 
Keyboard and action
 
We have restored the original keyboard and action and it is a joy to play on, with a fairly light action which is smooth and consistent. The necessary government declaration has been submitted - CD7KR6JY.
 
 
Hammers and strings
 
This piano was restrung in the recent past, with new tuning pins and these are all in excellent order (see photos).
 
 
Sound board
 
The sound board is in very good condition with no cracks or splits.
 
 
Case
 
The case has been authentically restored by our French Polisher and it looks stunning! Many piano shops would send these pianos to Poland to be sprayed in polyester. They may look nice and shiny but this is not really authentic for a piano made in 1911 and we prefer to spend more time and money on an authentic and sympathetic restoration, with more character, remaining true to the original design of the piano, preserving the skills of traditional shellac French Polishing.
