Made in Braunschweig, Germany in 1926 by Grotrian-Steinweg, this is a large boudoir / small concert grand piano of the highest quality. Most of the Steinweg family moved to New York in 1850 and changed their name to ‘Steinway’. CF Theodore Steinweg remained in Germany initially and Grotrian-Steinweg continued to produce prestige quality grand and upright pianos. This particular piano has been recently fully restored for the previous owners, with new top quality tuning pins, strings and dampers and the action has been completely overhauled. We have carefully set up the piano to sound and play at its very best and the case has been authentically restored also with traditonal French Polish. In its classic rosewood authentically French Polished case it could be a fantastic focal point within a large room. At 6 ft 7 inches, this is larger than most 'baby grands’ and has a very impressive sound, with a beautiful singing tone!
 
We have registered this piano with DEFRA under unique CITES reference T98933Q3 due to the original ivory keys.

Tone and tuning
 
Lovely rich and warm tone, and with a great dynamic range. Excellent strength in the bass section, blending seemlessly to a sweet and sparkling treble. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440).
 
Keyboard and action
 
The full 88 note original keyboard is in excellent condition. The original action has been completely stripped apart, refurbished and carefully regulated - this piano plays superbly and feels smooth across the whole keyboard, with a light to medium weight - very responsive. 
 
Hammers, strings, dampers
 
The hammers are in excellent shape - we have cleaned and refaced them and they look almost brand new! Custom made bass strings and German treble strings. 
 
Soundboard
 
The original sound board is in excellent condition also - no cracks or splits, maintaining the soul of the instrument. 
 
Case
 
Stunning and classic looking rosewood French Polished case - a beautiful looking piece of antique furniture as well as a fantastic piano. We prefer to have pianos of this era authentically finished as opposed to having them sprayed in black polyester!
 
Dimensions
 
Approx 6 ft 6 inches / 200cm long x 5ft wide / 150cm - this is large enough to give the player and listener the full experience of a large grand piano while still being able to fit within many homes. Alternatively this would be a good size for any venues hosting performances.
