Kawai are Japan’s 2nd largest piano manufacturer after Yamaha, both companies make some superb pianos but the most recent innovations in design seem to be coming from Kawai and some musicians prefer the warmer tone of Kawai. The K series are very highly regarded, winning many prestigious awards. The K-300 is slightly larger than the benchmark Yamaha U1, and it outperforms pianos that are much larger. Tone and tuning
Lovely rich and warm tone, with a pleasant brightness and a large dynamic range - plenty of power for fortissimo passages! Excellent bass and the treble is clear and bell like. Nicely balanced tone throughout the registers. Includes a mute rail as found on most modern pianos - operated with a lever underneath the keyboard. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440).
Keyboard and action
The K-300 features Kawai's exclusive Millennium III Upright Action. Components made from ABS-Carbon are used in the action, which is lighter than traditional piano action components, yet none of the strength is sacrificed. This results in a fast, powerful and expressive action, giving the player ample control over the sound produced. This action is also more resilient to changes in humidity than traditional wooden piano actions. the hammers are made
Silent System
Kawai’s superb ATX3 silent system - with the middle pedal engaged it becomes a digital piano with very responsive touch and a wide variety of high quality sounds to choose from, via the colour touchscreen. A pair of brand new high quality headphones will be provided with the piano.
Hammers and strings
Mahogany hammers with underfelt contribute to the elegant and sweet sound. Internally this piano is in as new condition and has hardly been played (see photos).
Sound board
The spruce sound board is in as new condition.
Case
Stunning black gloss polyester lacquered case in as new condition throughout - a stunning piano which will complement most styles of decor. Matching adjustable stool included in the sale. This piano has a soft close lid - a really good feature, especially if there are small hands around!
