This is a very well-made piano from Samick, built for Hyundai in the late 1980s — a particularly strong era for these South Korean U1-style instruments. Tone and tuning
Lovely tone that is big, bright, rich and even throughout the registers. Very good dynamic range. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440).
Keyboard and action
The full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the action has just been regulated so plays smoothly across the whole keyboard with a medium weight action. Perfect for beginners or advanced pianists.
Hammers and strings
Very little wear in the hammers - this piano has not been played much at all. Strings also in superb condition - see photos.
Sound board
Excellent condition solid spruce, no cracks or splits.
Case
Stunning looking dark rosewood case with polyester high gloss lacquer, which is in very good condition indeed - there are a couple of small marks here and there, consistent with the piano’s age but hardly noticeable.
