This elegant piano was built by Yamaha in England in 2003, and would be a great option for someone looking for a high quality reconditioned piano, perhaps as an upgrade from a first piano or digital. Suitable for any level of player, it has been only lightly used so far but well maintained and now very carefully checked and set up by oursleves to be at its best. Yamaha took over the Kemble factory in Milton Keynes in the 1990s and are renowned for their robust build quality, fast and smooth actions and clear, bright tone - these English made Kembles are superb examples of their combined craftsmanship. The Windsor model is slightly smaller than the benchmark Yamaha U1 model, yet offers a very similar playing experience and is a good alternative within a more compact package. The British made Yamahas from this era tend to have a slightly warmer tone than Asian built Yamahas, as is the case here. 
 
Price includes ground floor delivery within 100 miles, matching adjustable stool and 2 years warranty. £75 delivery for most of the rest of England & Wales (ground floor).

Tone and tuning 
 
This piano has a very nice tone with plenty of warmth and a little brightness, even throughout the registers and a very good dynamic range. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440). 
 

Keyboard and action

The full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the action has been regulated to play smoothly across the whole keyboard with a light to medium weight action, which will suit any ability of pianist, including beginners.


Hammers and strings

Strings in excellent condition and not much wear at all in the hammers, see photos.


Sound board

Excellent condition, as new.


Case

The shiny black cabinet is in very good condition throughout, and the walnut vertical trims on each side of the front fascias are a very classy and unusal touch. The lacquer around the feet has cracked a little - we have reglued and tidied this up and it is not very noticeable at all but can be seen in the photos.


Dimensions
 
152 cm wide, 57.5 deep, 117 tall - a good sized upright with classic design but within in a fairly neat footprint.
