Welmar and Marshall & Rose ‘126’ pianos of this era are identical, all being built at the Whelpdale, Maxwell & Codd factory in Clapham. These pianos are highly respected for their rich tonal character and smooth, responsive action, making them a popular choice among musicians and teachers alike. With strong historical ties to Blüthner, you can hear that influence in the warm, full, and expressive tone this piano produces.

Tone and tuning
 
Outstanding rich tone with the ideal balance between brightness and warmth, and a very large dynamic range. Excellent full bass and the treble is clear and bell like. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440). Features a 3rd ‘mute’ pedal for quiet practice. This piano must be seen and heard to appreciate its quality.
 
Keyboard and action
 
The full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the British 'Langer 100' action has just been regulated so plays smoothly across the whole keyboard.
 
Hammers and strings
 
Not much wear at all in the hammers - it has been played only fairly lightly but has been tuned regularly through the years by the previous owners who purchased the piano new. Strings in excellent condition - almost as new.
 
Sound board
 
Excellent condition spruce, with no cracks or splits
 
Case
 
In excellent condition throughout - a traditional style design, dark mahogany gloss case. Matching stool is included in the price.
