A wonderful opportunity to own a Steinway Model K, the substantial upright often known as the Vertegrand. Built in 1925, this is a serious musician’s piano with a beautifully figured mahogany case and the presence you would expect from one of Steinway’s largest uprights.
The Model K is admired for its rich bass, broad range of colour and expressive touch. This example has a particularly attractive traditional cabinet and would make a striking centrepiece in a home, teaching studio or music room. As with every piano we sell, it will be carefully prepared in our own workshop, tuned and regulated before delivery.

Tone and tuning
A rich, full sound with a strong bass and plenty of warmth and character. The piano holds its tuning well and is tuned to concert pitch.
Keyboard and action
Full 88-note keyboard, which is in very good condition indeed. The action has been thoroughly checked and regulated in our workshop so that the piano plays evenly and responsively across the keyboard.
Hammers and strings
The hammers and strings are in very good condition and have many years of faithful service ahead before they would need replacing.
Case
An elegant, polished mahogany case with attractive grain and traditional detailing. It presents very well for a piano of this age - it is in very good condition throughout, with just a few small imperfections which are barely noticeable. Please see the photographs for its cosmetic condition.
