At 118cm tall, this is a substantial instrument with a rich, powerful and beautifully balanced tone, offering impressive depth in the bass and a clear, singing treble. The high-quality Renner action provides a wonderfully responsive and precise touch, making this a genuinely serious piano suitable for advanced and professional players as well as ambitious students.
W. Hoffmann pianos of this period were manufactured at the renowned Langlau factory in Bavaria, where instruments were also produced for prestigious German makers including Feurich. The quality of materials and construction is immediately apparent, and these German built Hoffmanns are particularly highly regarded.
This example is in superb condition throughout, finished in elegant high gloss black and clearly very well cared for. As with all our pianos, it has been carefully inspected and extensively prepared by our technicians, with particular attention paid to action regulation, tuning, tonal balance and overall performance. Tone and tuning
A big, rich and resonant tone throughout the registers. Excellent bass tone - outperforming many small grand pianos! This piano is a real joy to play and constantly rewards the player! Tuned to concert pitch (A=440hz). This piano features a mute rail for much quieter practice - operated with the middle pedal.
Hammers and strings
The original hammers are in excellent condition, with not much wear at all. Strings in great condition throughout also, as per photos. This is certainly a very well cared for piano and it is hard to believe it is 40 years old! It has many decades of faithful service ahead.
Soundboard
Top quality Bavarian spruce soundboard - perfect condition with no cracks or splits.
Keys and action
All original and in excellent condition. We have meticulously set up the Renner action to perform at its best - very responsive indeed with a medium weight feel and even across the keyboard - wonderful to play, allowing the player effortless expression!
Case
A classic black cabinet, with high gloss finish, in very condition throughout after being thoroughly cleaned, buffed and polished. The top lid opens from the side, like a grand piano - an unusual and stylish feature. There is the odd little mark here and there consistent with age, but nothing that detracts from the beautiful cabinetry of this classy piano. The new, adjustable stool is included in the price.
