A superb quality, large upright piano, made in England in 1983 by Welmar - widely regarded as one of the finest British piano makers. This is a expertly designed and built instrument with real presence, both in its sound and appearance. Carefully and professionally reconditioned, this piano has been thoroughly stripped apart, checked, cleaned and adjusted inside and out, including tuning, regulation, and voicing. It’s now performing at its very best and is ready to provide many years of reliable service. We have had the case fully refurbished also, with our unique ‘Imperial Navy’ dark blue - a deep and elegant colour that matches the stunning sound of this piano!
Welmar pianos are highly respected for their rich tonal character and smooth, responsive action, making them a popular choice among musicians and teachers alike. With strong historical ties to Blüthner, you can hear that influence in the warm, full, and expressive tone this piano produces. Being taller than most of the Welmars we see (which are also brilliant), this piano has a larger dynamic and tonal range.

Tone and tuning
Outstanding rich tone with the ideal balance between brightness and warmth, and a very large dynamic range. A good strong bass and the treble is clear and bell like. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440). Features a 3rd ‘mute’ pedal for quiet practice. This piano must be seen and heard to appreciate its quality.
Keyboard and action
The full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the Schwander action has just been meticulously regulated so plays smoothly across the whole keyboard.
Hammers and strings
The hammers and strings are both in very good condition throughout - see photos.
