This beautiful Yamaha G1 is an outstanding instrument from one of the world’s most respected piano makers. Measuring approximately 160 cm in length, it offers a rich, resonant tone while still fitting comfortably into most living spaces. It’s an excellent choice for players of any level—from beginners to seasoned professionals.
Built in Yamaha’s renowned Hamamatsu, Japan factory in 1984, this piano has been well cared for, with regular tuning and maintenance throughout its life. We have now carefully prepared the piano in our workshop so it is ready for many more years of faithful service. The original mahogany case showed some sun fading, so we opted for a full refinishing in a striking, contemporary ‘Blue Black’ (Farrow & Ball) finish.

Price includes ground floor delivery within 100 miles, matching adjustable stool and 5 years warranty (all internal parts). £100 delivery for most of the rest of England & Wales (ground floor). £25 additional fee for London deliveries.
 
Tone and tuning 
Impressive tone that is powerful, rich and clear - a well balanced voice and not too bright. The bass section is very good - not always the case with pianos of this size. Wide dynamic range. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440). 
 
Keyboard and action 
The full size 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition, as is the action, having been stripped apart for checking and cleaning. The action has also been carefully regulated to play smoothly across the whole keyboard with a medium weight, suitable for all levels of pianist - very expressive indeed and with Yamaha’s renowned fast repetition, ideal for advanced playing.
 
Hammers and strings 
The hammers are in great shape with lots of fresh felt, and the strings are in very good condition also - see photos. This piano has been only fairly lightly used so far and well looked after.
 
Sound board 
Excellent condition solid spruce.
 
Case 
A unique a beautiful piano - professionally refinished in Farrow & Ball’s satin finish ‘Blue Black’. This piano will undoubtedly become a main feature of any room. The matching stool, with reupholstered top, is included in the sale.
 
 
Approx Dimensions
161cm long, 148.5 cm wide, 101cm high - a fairly small grand piano, but large enough to have good strong bass tone and make a big impact both sonically and visually.
