This is a superb piano, built in Hamamatsu, Japan in 1996 and now freshly factory reconditioned in Japan. It would suit a professional musician, serious amateur or perhaps a very fortunate beginner. It has been completely reconditioned, tuned, regulated and voiced and is now ready for it’s next home. The Yamaha U1 is often considered the benchmark modern upright piano, much sought after for their smooth and responsive action and big and bright sound - ever popular with musicians, piano teachers and schools.

Tone and tuning 
 
Stunning bold, rich and full tone throughout the registers and a large dynamic range. Tuned to concert pitch prior to sale (A=440). This piano has a mute / celeste pedal for very quiet practice.
 
 
Keyboard and action 
 
The action has been completely overhauled with new key bushings, keybed felts, check tapes, loop chords and action felts. The action has then been regulated so plays perfectly smoothly across the whole keyboard with a medium weight. Very expressive and responsive for developing or advanced level players. New key tops also so the keyboard is in perfect condtion. 
 
 
Hammers and strings 
 
The hammers have been refaced and carefully voiced. Strings in excellent condition also with great tone throughout.
 
 
Soundboard
 
Excellent condition.
 
 
Case 
 
Case resprayed and looks stunning. A matching height adjustable stool is included in the sale.
