Made in South Korea in 1994, it has been very well cared for and has seen relatively light use. Both visually and tonally, it’s an impressive instrument, offering a warm, balanced sound and an elegant appearance that would complement any home or studio.
 
Young Chang has previously manufactured pianos for well-known brands such as Yamaha and Steinway, and their instruments are known for using high-quality components, including Royal George felts. Properly prepared (as all of our pianos are), these pianos compare very favourably with similar-sized Yamaha and Kawai models, while representing excellent value for money.
 
Slightly longer than many baby grands, the G-185 offers a fuller tone, particularly in the bass, making it a rewarding and versatile instrument to own.

Tone and tuning

Very pleasing tone - well balanced and rich tone with good even sound throughout the registers - really satisfying to play and a wide dynamic range is available for expressive playing. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440).


Keyboard and action

The full size 88 note keyboard is in very good condition and the action has been regulated to play perfectly smoothly across the whole keyboard with a medium weight action, not too heavy and would suit beginners right up to advanced pianists.


Hammers and strings

Not very much wear at all in the hammers - it has certainly not been played heavily. Strings in very good condition also - see photos.


Sound board

Excellent as new condition.


Case

A stunning looking piano - just off white, with high gloss polyester finish case. In great condition throughout - looks fantastic and would suit pretty much any home or decor. There are a couple of tiny blemishes consistent with age, but hardly noticeable.


Dimensions

185cm long (keyboard to end), 150cm wide. A very good sized ‘boudoir’ grand piano - ideal for a fairly large room in the home, or perhaps a small performance space.
